It looks nice, it's easy to operate, and it's fully customizable. Various powerful collection maintenance features can be accessed through one or two clicks. Sophisticated tasks are accomplished using wizards. Progressive operation assistance is available in most wizards and dialogs to guide you through the task without consulting the user manual. All interface elements are fully integrated, which made it possible for drag and drop, recalling entered values.
As one of the key user experience features, the virtual shelf view mode renders the collection in the form of a realistic digital shelf. A unique frame look is available for all media, including DVDs, CDs, books, and software. Live-zooming is supported. Picture generation module is optimized for mainstream processor extensions. Adaptive multi-threading technology ensures to use more CPU only when more processing power is available so that you'll never experience any program lock ups during heavy and lengthy picture generation process.
Importing
MediaMan behave as a client to the Amazon E-Commerce Service platform. Instead of extracting web pages, MediaMan talks directly with Amazon's back-end database, and fetches item information, including in-depth reviews and pictures.
MediaMan is capable of downloading information from all 6 available Amazon International sites (United States, Great Britain, Germany, Japan, Canada, France). Querying using native language keyword and barcode is supported.
Batch barcode entry option is available, keyboard-input style barcode scanners are supported. And if you have a high quality webcam, you can use the webcam barcode scanner to make the process even easier.
Downloaded data, including text and pictures are all stored in the MediaMan Collection File using the best available compression.
*In addition to Amazon, MediaMan also supports querying book information from the Library of Congress.
Maintaining
Here is some of the key collection maintenance features provided by MediaMan.
Item Editing
Take full control of your collection by editing single items and putting your own comments there. MediaMan allows you edit all fields for all items. Batch edit of multiple items is also supported. In addition to the downloaded picture from Amazon, it is possible to import up to 25 pictures for each item in the edit dialog. Use custom fields to define extra information.

Organizing by Categories
Organizing the collection by categories. MediaMan allows you to create any number of nested categories. Additional helper features such as drag & drop, show flattened categories, makes it quite easy to manage items across different categories.

Organizing by Tags
Tagging is becoming a more and more popular way to manage digital content. Tag is a loose concept which can be used to organize the collection by any subject. This comes handy when you want to view the collection by Artists, or Genres.

Organizing by Status
Keep an eye on borrowed and rented stuff. MediaMan's status feature is an efficient way to manage per-item rental status. The built-in reminder will highlight the items when the date comes due.

Searching
Quickly locate items by using the search tool. The in-pane design search tool provides you with the option to search specific fields, and standard boolean operations and quotations are supported in the search keyword too. Search results are displayed in the same way as the item listing provided by categories. This gives you the power to manipulate search result and perform common tasks such as assigning tags, batch editing, and exporting.

Exporting and Printing
Collection exporting to various formats and printing is supported. MediaMan can export the collection file into .RTF, .HTML, .CSV, .TXT files. It can export the virtual shelf rendering as a PNG picture file as well.

Playing
Although MediaMan isn't a media player. It can be configured to launch your default media player on demand.
The "Play It!" button will be available when you use the file listing feature to attach a list of files or a directory to an item.
MediaMan features enhanced exporting and printing capabilities. It allows you to create beautiful printouts of the collection to share with your friends. It can also create an HTML website, or a rendering in virtual shelf out of the collection if you wish to put it online.

MediaMan works smoothly under Windows limited user accounts. Only installation and updating tasks requires the attendance of the administrative account owner.
