New features introduced in the version 2.60 series
- Complies with least priviledged Windows application standards. MediaMan 2.60 has done some important improvements to the internal program structure to comply with the least priviledged Windows application standards. MediaMan will now requires less priviledges on the Windows user account to work. This made it possible for MediaMan to work smoothly on limited user accounts in Windows 2000, XP, and Vista. The change also made it easier to transfer preference settings between users and/or computers.
- Improved printing function. The printing function has been enhanced in version 2.60. It not only provides list and detail printing, but also offers more control over the styles. Four new visual styles are available in the list print mode. And in detail print mode, it's now possible to control the number of items to print on each page.
- Improved exporting function. MediaMan 2.60 features exporting the collection file into an HTML website with XHTML-compliant content pages and full control over the style using CSS. Additionally, the export wizard now offers many other options, such as the choice of delimiters, and the order of fields.
- Improved collection file handling. Collection file handling function has been partially rewritten to work more efficiently and thread-safe. The performance is considerably better in handling large collection files with thousands of items.
- Other notable improvements in version 2.60 include revised and corrected user interaction logic in several interface components, extra theme case looks, revised self-update mechanism, and bug fixes.
