Apologies if this has alredy been dealt with but I just can't work out why when doing a search for the precise title of a CD I get a "Collection 0" result despite the fact that it is in the collection.

I'm not quite sure but it could be due to some screw ups in the indexing. You can try using the tool:
http://www.imediaman.com/support/MediaManCFR.zip to repair it.

I deleted the CD title and typed in in again and now the search finds it! What could this be about?

Well I'm really not sure how this could have happened. It could be an indexing issue in the collection database, that's why I suggested that you use the tool to fix it.
