I edited the "genre" of a movie to "Documentary" and after searching for the keyword "Documentary" it returned 0 for my collections. This would be a problem. I saved it.. exited out of the program, confirmed the data was there and also used the database "fixer" I saw listed in another forum post.
Any idea what might be wrong?

Well, it does appear that Genre information isn't included in search on your side, but it's weird I've got no problem searching in Genre on mine. The quick alternative would be to use the cross tab to view by Genre.
I don't quite understand how this could've happened, but it might be due to the fact that indexes in the file are broken. However this should be fixable by the repair tool. Did you discover problems in other fields?

Thanks for the quick response.
I haven't tried searching on other fields but I will do some testing and let you know what I find.
And just to save myself from waiting 2 mins to post again on my other topic... I'll try using the tags. Thanks for the suggestions.

Hi Dwayne, I was looking into this. Did tagging work out for you?
