As I understand it the collation options I have for my music collection are:
1) Disabled
2) Ignore articles in album titles.
3) Collate artist names as Lastname, Firstname
4) Both
I'd like to see an additional option for artist names that does the same as the album titles. So 'Alan Parsons' would be collated as 'Alan Parsons' and 'The Alan Parsons Project' would be collated as 'Alan Parsons Project'. The reason I'd like this is because I'd like Mediaman to be able to collate my music collection in exactly the same order that Microsoft Windows Media Player 12 does. At the moment the only way I can work around this is to manually populate a field such as 'Catalog No.' and sort on that.
(I don't particularly like the collation in Windows Media Player but I have to go with the flow really).
It would also be useful if rather than just ignore collation for a particular name or title, the required collation could be specified. So if I chose to have the artist 'Alan Parsons' collated as 'Parsons, Alan', I could also say to have 'The Alan Parsons Project' collated as 'Parsons Project, The Alan' rather than 'The Alan Parsons Project' or 'Project, The Alan Parsons'. Similarly I might want the title 'Tales From Topographic Oceans' collated as 'Topographic Oceans, Tales From'.

I honestly think you might want to modify the artist field if you want sorting in particular order. Like changing "Alan Parsons Project" to "Alan Parsons"? I personally didn't find Windows Media Player sorting work better. I'm not sure how it works but it's going to be pretty difficult to recognize keywords and ignore them.
Previous versions of MediaMan does have the mechanism to ignore particular words, but the list goes on. In the end MediaMan has to detect thousands of words upon each item. I think changing the artist name will work better, considering even with the large set of ignored words enabled, you can still manage to encounter the one you wanted, and render the results not so perfect.

+1 on this. WOuld love to have this functionality being implemented in the future.
